If you are planning Costa Rica to be your next tourist destination during your holidays, then make sure you visit this resort. The Lapa Rios Ecolodge in Costa Rica is an environmentally friendly resort that utilizes, supports and accomplishes many green causes like green construction, local wildlife protection, solar power for generating electricity, the recycling of waste generated at the resort, etc. But the most interesting one is that it uses pig feces to power its kitchen! A portion of the hotel waste forms the diet of pigs at the hotel farm. The pig feces is then used to make bio-gas, which is used for heating and cooking in the kitchen. How the excreta could be turned into something useful. This is true recycling. Read the full story here.
